Zero Tolerance Policy on Threats and Weapons

To maintain a safe and focused learning environment, the City and its School Resource Officers strictly enforce a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding threats, weapons, and any behavior that poses a risk to school safety.

  • Threats of violence—verbal, written, digital, or implied—will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and may result in both school disciplinary action and criminal charges.
  • Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on school property. Possession or attempted possession of firearms, knives, or imitation weapons will result in immediate law enforcement involvement and potential prosecution.
  • False threats or hoaxes, including bomb threats or threats made via social media, will not be tolerated and may result in arrest and prosecution.

The safety of our students, staff, and campuses is our top priority. Our School Resource Officers work closely with school personnel, parents, and the community to ensure swift and appropriate responses to any behavior that endangers our schools. Working together, we can keep our schools safe and focused on learning!
