Bureaus & Divisions
The Port St. Lucie Police Department is led by the Chief of Police, who oversees the entire agency, which consists of the following two Bureaus and one Division: Neighborhood Policing Bureau, Support Services Bureau, and Professional Standards Division. Each Bureau is managed by a Deputy Chief and the Professional Standards Division is overseen by a Captain who reports directly to the Chief of Police.
The agency has six Captains, ten Lieutenants, one Operations Division Director, one Operations Manager, and one Administrator.
Deputy Chiefs of Police
The Police Department comprises two Bureaus, the Neighborhood Policing Bureau and the Support Services Bureau, each overseen by a Deputy Chief.
The Neighborhood Policing Bureau Deputy Chief Marc Dimeo is responsible for the efficient operation of the Bureau and for planning, supervising, and directing the districts and district support components assigned to the Bureau. He/she must have a working knowledge of all subordinate positions within the Bureau. He/she must be able to coordinate the various functions within the Bureau so that the unified law enforcement mission of the Port St. Lucie Police Department is accomplished. He/she shall be under the immediate direction and supervision of the Chief of Police.
The Support Services Bureau Deputy Chief Carmine Izzo is responsible for the direction of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Operational Support Services Division, Animal Control Division and the Collective Bargaining Negotiation Team. He/she must have a basic working knowledge of all positions within the Support Services Bureau. He/she must be able to coordinate the various functions within Support Services so that the mission of the Port St. Lucie Police Department is accomplished. He/she shall be under the immediate direction and supervision of the Chief of Police.
Captains
The Neighborhood Policing Bureau is comprised of two regions, the eastern region and the western region, divided by Florida's Turnpike. Each region is headed by a Captain responsible for police operations within their assigned regions and carrying out administrative policies for assigned personnel. The Regional Captain is also responsible for planning, supervising, and directing all assigned duties and responsibilities within his/her assigned regions. The Regional Captain must have a working knowledge of all subordinate positions within the district and must be able to coordinate the various functions within the region so that the unified law enforcement mission of the Port St. Lucie Police Department is accomplished. The position also requires placement, development, safety, and discipline of bureau or regional personnel. The Regional Captain shall be under the immediate direction and supervision of the Neighborhood Policing Bureau Deputy Chief.
The District Support Division Captain is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and direction within the District Support Division, which includes the Traffic Unit, Motor Unit, Parks Unit, Marine Patrol, Honor Guard, Uniformed Crime Scene Investigators, School Resource Officer Program, Truancy Officer, Emergency Management, Crime Prevention, School Crossing Guards, Explorers and Police Athletic League. The District Support Division Captain reports to the Neighborhood Policing Bureau Deputy Chief.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Captain oversees criminal investigations within their assigned division and carries out administrative policies for assigned personnel. The CID Captain is also responsible for planning, supervising, and directing all assigned duties and responsibilities within his/her division. The CID Captain must have a working knowledge of all subordinate positions within the division and must be able to coordinate the various functions within the division so that the unified law enforcement mission of the Port St. Lucie Police Department is accomplished. The position also requires division personnel's placement, development, safety, and discipline. The CID Captain shall be under the immediate direction and supervision of the Support Services Bureau Deputy Chief.
The Special Investigations Division (SID) and Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are responsible for overseeing special investigations within their assigned division and carrying out administrative policies for assigned personnel. The SID and CID Captains are also responsible for planning, supervising, and directing all assigned duties and responsibilities within his/her division. They must have a working knowledge of all subordinate positions within the division and must be able to coordinate the various functions within the division so that the unified law enforcement mission of the Port St. Lucie Police Department is accomplished. The position also requires division personnel's placement, development, safety, and discipline. The SID and CID Captains shall be under the immediate direction and supervision of the Support Services Bureau Deputy Chief.
The Professional Standards Division Captain reports directly to the Chief of Police.
